Windows 10 installation

I just got a WD green 1tb hard drive in the mail last night, and have it plugged into my desktop with dismay as windows 10 cannot create any new partitions in the installer or CMD using diskpart. When I attempt to create a partition in the installer it gives me error code 0x80070017 and inside CMD it says It cannot create a new partition because of a Cylic redundancy check. Please advise, I need this to work.

My system is

1Tb WD Green HDD 

Amd phenom II X4 910 O'C 3.0 Ghz 
MSI DKA790GX Platinum Edition 
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR2 800 Mhz 
OS - Windows 10
