I have a saitek/madcatz v.1 Flight stick that I use frequently for microsoft flight simulator X, and last night, seemingly randomly, it stopped working with my one computer. It must have happened mid flight because I had used it to take off and then when it came time to land... well I guess you could say *BOOM*.

When i connect the device to my laptop, no matter which USB port I use, the accent lights on the stick come on for 1-2 seconds and then turn off. In the device manager it shows up as HID-compliant game controller and in devices and printers it is shown as Mad Catz v.1 Stick. I've already installed the latest drivers from the website manually and still have not been able to get the device to work again. This puzzles me because it seems to connect fine to my other computer (Windows 7) vs. my laptop I use for flight sim (8.1). Contacted Mad Catz/Saitek tech support and they had me go into the registry editor and turn off enhanced power management, to no effect.

I'm super stumped by this issue, wondering if one of you tech-gods/godesses might have a suggestion. Please don't tell me to update my drivers, I have already done ALL windows updates and ALL device driver updates.

I can answer this in one phrase.

Mad Catz.

Has worked really well for me the past 9 or 10 months, haven't had any issues. Tech support has been really helpful and responsive with my issue (or at least they mean well). I just don't really feel like calling them a third time in 2 hours

Thanks for the suggestion, tried it but still nothing :(. I think I may just have to system restore or factory reset even.

It's so frustrating that I can't really figure how and why this issue is happening its been pissing me off all damn day!
