RAM Difference

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

4x4 is used for X99 boards which supports quad channel

2x8 is dual channel which is common for mainstream systems

are you building a Z97/Z170 or a X99?

4x4 is pretty much a waste of space and upgradability(is this even a word?) pretty much, I don't think there is anything different from it.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I didn't think about x99 boards :/ I guess I'm just too poor for them so I never think about them :(

you have 2x gtx 970. If you're poor then i'm probably homeless. ;)

Well too poor for a $1000 CPU, let's just go with that :P
