create a spritesheet in photoshop for unity

Having some trouble making a spritesheet in photoshop and exporting it to unity.  I have the sprite layed out on the page, and have set up my grids and subdivisions, i think, and when i save as a png, and put it in unity, unity just sees it as 1 image, not multiple frames so i can use it as an animation.  what should i try?

I can help with programming and hardware.

I might be wrong, but it's possible that you can't export the image with subdivisions and have Unity recognize it as so. You might just need to upload a bunch of separate images for each frame.

EDIT: I don't know about this one, but maybe try a GIF file?
