New Build won't Post

Go to solution Solved by MrChavelo,

Building a PC for my dad, and it will not post.

Part list - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BwzbMp

I have assembled the motherboard outside the case, on the motherboard box, and plugged in the RAM, cpu, cup heatsink, and 24 pin power connector. Also, I plugged in the front power connector into the corresponding pins on the motherboard. I hit the power button and the cpu fan spins for a quarter revolution then stops, but the psu fan spins for about 10-15 seconds then stops. I tried powering it on by shroting the two pins but it doesn't work. The cpu is in right. I have tried different sticks of ram in each dimm. I have hit the coms reset button, but I do not know if I have to just hit it or hold it down. Should I take out the battery and switch to dvi or vga instead of hdmi? Please help, hopefully the motherboard or cpu are not dead.

Plug the 4pin power cable from the PSU in this slot:

Did you plug in the 4+4 pins power cable for the CPU?

Where can I find this cable?

Shoud have either 4 pins or 2x4 pins, usually it's labelled with something like 'CPU'

Now nothing's showing up on screen

Try installing your GPU and connect the HDMI/Displayport/whatever cable to the GPU and the monitor

Reset cmos, is working now. Ram is 1600 MHz and is saying 1333 on screen? Use custom XMP profile?

Did you set it to 1600Mhz in the BIOS?
