Hey guys, I just finished my pc build and I am having problems with my second drive showing up when the computer is loaded. I have checked the Bios and it shows up there, I need the drive to put programs I won't be using as much compared to my ssd.

Would anyone know how to fix this problem?

It's not showing up with the others at the top, but it does show up on the bottom with the boxes, it shows it as unallocated.

I am using Windows 8 if this is of any use.

Right click on it in disk management and select "New partition", then give it a letter such as "D" and choose quick format if it gives you the option.

Right click the drive > make partition > select the size > ok

It's not giving me that option,

Currently showing as Convert to dynamic disk...

Convert to GPT Disk

offline

properties

help

It's only showing C drive which is the ssd and system reserved.

The Hard drive is Disk 0 on the bottom with the options I listed above, it's not in the same place as the C drive that gives the option to partition.

Nvm got the image up, it's exactly how you showed except mine is colored black and says "unallocated" with none of those options (not counting properties and help).

I got it to work, would anyone know how to setup program files in the second drive. When I try installing them it doesn't have the usual /program (x86) etc (I have to make the name) or is it suppose to work like that?

You can install programs in whatever folder you want, it doesn't have to have the exact same name as the default folders.

The reason Windows has two different Program Files folders is to separate 64-bit programs (Program Files) from 32-bit programs (Program Files (x86) ). I have never understood why they wanted it like this, but meh.
