New Thermal Compound and Usage

Hello,

 

I have an i5-4200H for my laptop CPU and i have been having throttling issues.

 

I have uploaded the picture of my CPU - GPU and the thermal paste I had replaced before.

 

And I need recommendations for a newer thermal compound and how to apply it if my version is not right. Because this cpu is a little bit strange to me.

Try a thinner line, you don't need that much on the die. And that is the die. Laptop CPUs are basically delidded chips, but they never had an IHS in the first place.

 

Just in case you'd not been told before, there's no need to spread it. heatsink will do that for you.

Any paste works fine for die because the surface is so perfect the thickness is nearly zero when you clamp the heatsink to it.

DeepCool Z5 is pretty good, I hear. Arctic Silver is also good. Pretty much anything that isn't stock paste will workgreat.
