Hello LTT-community,

I'm Georges (19) and I live in BE and I have a problem, with a hopefully ideal solution.

PROBLEM: My laptop died a couple of months ago and I decided to buy a 13" Macbook Pro. I study Industrial Engineering.
So I need to run MS Access but it doesn't exist for OSX.

SOLUTION: I still have the SSD from my old laptop (256 Samsung 840 PRO) and use it as an external drive now. But I didn't 'wipe' it so it still has windows on it. I want to make this my bootcamp drive (since it should have a windows key) and be able to boot from it.

QUESTION:

- can you boot from and usb drive via bootcamp

- where do i find the windows key

- can i divide the that 256GB in parts since I'll only install MS on it so i can still use the rest for storage.

If you have an answer, feel free to drop it below but I'm not to tech-savvy.. so try to keep it as easy as possible :)

If you made it this far, thank you!

Greetings!

I'm currently stuck on the step to recover the key itself. The program says error 1314: 'this client hasnt got the needed qualifications'.

So I guess I need to be in Administrator-mode? but how do I get in there

Got it now with a different program :) So now is it possible to boot from that external ssd?

doubt it

will have to clean install windows now that you got the key

So using bootcamp, you cant boot via an external device?

you could in theory...but the hardware is different

probably wouldn't work

you are best off doing the clean install..if you got the key now

can easily download a window iso

just make sure the MD5 of the iso matches the retail iso's
