I own the Lenovo y40-80 and my BIOS is Version 2.03, and they released a 2.04 version back in July, but it is listed as Windows 8.1. I want to believe that the OS would not matter when updating but I wanted to make sure. Is it okay to update to 2.04 when I am on Windows 10 even though it is listed as Windows 8.1?

Nope, doesn't matter at all. It is listed as Windows 8.1 probably because they haven't updated their support page.
