Window 7 install, a required CD Drive device driver is missing

I'm trying to reinstall windows and I have two install dvds but I get the same message with both "a required CD/DVD drive driver is missing." I am using a usb DVD drive plugged into usb 2.0

The computer doesn't have the required drivers to recognize the usb dvd drive, to fix this you'll need either a standard dvd drive sata or what not or a usb flash drive formatted with something like rufus with an iso on it.

I just ran into the exact same problem totay.

I installed on a Asus H170 Mainboard and on the Support DVD from ASUS was a ASUS EZ Installer.

If you create your iso / install USB with that programm it automatically inserts the needed drivers into the iso.

 

Also just inserting your Mainboard Support DVD might also help.
