Go to solution Solved by Curufinwe_wins,

i dont have a dp adapter or a dp monitor

Then yet it will work.

yesterday i installed my gtx 980ti hybrid. and i have two monitors hooked up to it using the HDMI and the DVI. a third monitor would be really nice right now for school. would i be able to use the onboard graphics of my CPU and the 980 ti at the same time without messing anything up?

yes, but you have support for up to 4 monitors from the 980ti so why not just hook it up there?

The 980Ti will handle the 3rd monitor fine, no need for onboard graphics.

because i only have 3 VGA monitors laying around in my room and a single HDMI tv and i would rather not spend 30$ on a VGA to DP adapter when ill be buying new monitors over the next few weeks
