So yesterday my girlfriend accidentally stood on my laptop and cracked the screen really badly, it's $150 to replace and I have better things to spend my money on so I was wondering if I could use the screen from my piece of crap Acer with the same resolution/size and connector or is there more to it then just that?

Unfortunately no most have proprietary connectors for that specific model or designed to fit that form factor so you will need to find either a replacement screen for your model of laptop.

Thanks, but yeah a replacement screen just the part will cost $150 for a $700 laptop that's with myself fixing it, so I think I'll just wait a few months maybe look at buying something new

If anything you can attach a secondary monitor to be able use it as a desktop.

Could, but I have a good desktop and don't know anyone who needs one
