Looking for some audio advice.

Hey everyone.

I'm new to the whole world of audio. I'm sitting here with my old ass Harmon Kardon speakers from like.. forever ago.

Here's what I'm aiming for! I'd like 2 nice bookshelf speakers and a decent sub. I like good sound with some good bass too. My room is pretty small, so I wont benefit from multi-sub setups, or anything.

My budget is probably somewhere around 200-250$. Also, give me some advice on how I go about setting the system up.. like I said, I'm new. :P

If you need any more information, lemme know, I can provide it. I'm located in the US, so suggest websites I can actually order from.

Thank you!

Yeah I would suggest just the JBL LSR305s for now as a 2.0 system, and then get a sub later on if you feel like you need it.

For passive speakers you got to also have a decent amp as well, and a decent sub will be at least $100 by itself.

For passive I would suggest SMSL SA-50/ NOBSound Hifi Mini Bluetooth Music Audio Stereo Receiver with a Dayton 100W sub or Martin Logan 300 and MB42x's.

You could also do a passive 2.0 setup with just the amp and some MB42-C and do the crossover upgrade yourself.

All of this but the crossover upgrade can be found at Amazon.
