Hey guys,

I believe it's now time to upgrade my desktop from an old fx-8150 to a new 6700k!

Let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions, and etc.

Lets start from my current build..

AMD FX-8150 @ 4.4ghz

Asus Crosshair V Formula (not the z version)

Corsair Domnator Platinum 1866

Corsair AX850 (individually sleeved cables. Oooooo)

256Gb OCZ Vertex 4

1Tb Western Digital Black

x2 GTX 970 Strix (Yes, two)

Asus Optical drive

Asus Xonar Phoebus

Asus PCE-AC68

Aqua Computer Aquaero 5

Bitspower D5 upgrade kit

Swiftech Apogee HD

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Tripple

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Double

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Single

all in a

NZXT Switch 810.

Dated picture back when I had a 590..

My thoughts for this build is to continue using SLI but this time make it a hard tube watercooled loop.

I will be switching waterblocks but I want it to match my new build.. I already got the new coolant I will be using (Mayhem Aurora 2 Red...girlfriends choice. ;) )

This is what I want to put in my new system..

Intel 6700K

Asus Maximus VIII Hero

Gskill Trident Z 16Gb 3200

With all these parts being (most likely) kept from my previous build:

**

Corsair AX850 (individually sleeved cables. Oooooo)

256Gb OCZ Vertex 4

1Tb Western Digital Black

x2 GTX 970 Strix (Yes, two)

Asus Optical drive

Asus Xonar Phoebus

Asus PCE-AC68

Aqua Computer Aquaero 5

Bitspower D5 upgrade kit

Swiftech Apogee HD

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Tripple

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Double

Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Single

NZXT Switch 810

I already purchased the ram on a binge buy..but I can still return them if needed.

Does this look good? Is there anything I should watch out for?

Let me know your thoughts. :)

Looks good. But lets take a moment to look at all of the radiators being used to cool only the northbridge and CPU.

Yeah...it stays cold..hahaha

An issue I have been having as of late is with storage..I think I should upgrade my SSD but should I go with a raid array, switch to NVMe, or just get a big ssd?

I've read that you can't use TRIM support with a Raid 0 array anyways.
