Record composite video on pc

i want to record wii footage and found an honestech vidbox for mac lying around and was wondering if this could be used to record video on my HP pav 500-270 if not is there a way under $20 or as inexpensive as possible

If you already have a capture card (which is the case), then you can hook it up and use either OBS or VirtualDub to capture and record it.

Maybe not what you want but trying to provide every option for consideration: You could use a Wii emulator like Dolphin and desktop recording software like nvidia shadowplay.
