First Build, How is it?

I've spent a while trying to get a low buget build that will absolutely destroy all the others and I finally came up with this. Apologies to linus for using newegg but I just gave it the parts and it's giving me the cheapest option :s Anyways, here it is :D http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/vYtP

If you have any suggestions, My budget is up to $900 but the closer to $800 the better.

Also, I want to keep the case no matter what, Keep the GPU and thats it. Other than that I am open to suggestions. :D

Don't go with an AMD CPU, they're really behind intel right now. Go with an i5 if you can, but an i3 2200 will still outperform it a little, but will give you a much better upgrade path.

This isnt really balanced, mostly due to the GPU. I know you don't really wont to change it but with that budget you wont be able to take advantage of that card.

​You could save some money on the case, there are a lot of nice looking cases out there for 30$

What are you going to be using this for? I see a 7970 so I assume gaming? What resolution? 1080P? 2560x1600?

The TR2 600w isn't particularly great from what I've seen, I would recommend spending a bit more on a Corsair CX600 V2 or an XFX Core Edition 650w.

Also if this rig is for gaming, I would recommend going for an i5 as others have said, going with a FX6300 would be nearing a CPU bottleneck. For slightly more, an i5 3330P and ASRock H77M would work pretty well (without the aftermarket cooling in that case, since the 3330P is locked).

@The Scanner Darkly I want the AMD CPU because it's a six core and very overclockable and I plan on doing a lot of multitasking so I need the six-core.

@alsimoso I want this case because it looks good, has plenty of space, has cable routing gromits, and isn't too cheaply built.

@sashi I plan on doing a lot of gaming, resolution is currently 1080p but may increase as time goes on.

More cores doesn't equal more powerful. The intel option will still out-perform the AMD right now in every way that doesn't use hyperthreading, which is almost everything. Multitasking will be better with a i5/i3.

You want to do a lot of gaming? Then go Intel route as many suggested. i5 will do well with your multitasking needs.

If the 3570k is out of your price range we can re-jig your build to accommodate it. I assume your budget is around $950? We could easily get you a 3570k and 7950/7870 for that price. What's your preference?

I know you wanted the 7970, however that Twin Frozer III 7950 has a 7970 PCB (bigger VRMS, same ram modules etc), therefore you can literally overclock it to 7970 speeds, and it is, for all intensive purposes, a 7970.

You can't ask for high-end parts in a medium budget.

You only need 4GB of RAM, install more later if you need to for gaming, but I doubt it.

The 6300 is good, not as good as the 3570K but it IS respectable. I assume you don't intend to OC the CPU.

We need more information, also. Resolution? Intend on Xfire/SLI?

I'm assuming 1080p, and no.

This is my recommendation. Let me know if you disapprove, but I believe:

Fixed your processor. Fixed your cooler. New mobo. Cheaper but still efficient memory. Better SSD. 7950 instead of 7970.

Same case (no one likes that to change) and a better PSU (though lower power, still enough).

Why are you giving 16GB of RAM if he wishes only to game?

Also the Samsung 840 comes highly not recommended compared to the superior 830 or 840 pro.

Well you shouldn't have any overheating problems without a heatsink, cause you'll be out a PSU as well. =P

You'll have to face reality and realize you can't get a best GPU and CPU at the same time. Either get a better CPU and go for a, 7850 7870 or a 7950, or gte a lower end CPU, you can upgrade later, and a better GPU, but you'll be bottlenecked in the meantime.
