You dont really need the h100i, spend the money on a better gpu or something

they'll be fine if he's only running 1080p 

I do agree though, the h100i is a bit un-necessary with a 4690k

I'd highly recommend the Cryorig H5 Ultimate/Unversal+XF 140.  It'll save you some money and be a really nice cooler that outperforms single radiators and pretty much is very similar to the H100i.

If you go with something like a Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212 and a cheaper board then you can get a 390 straight away.
