Hey there, LTT community!

 

I have built my own PC about 4 months ago.

Since then I have the feeling of my build

being kinda "jinxed", as in I have a lot of small but annoying problems.

 

For example: Sometimes I have bluescreens out of nowhere, like WDF_VIOLATION.

It takes forever for my pc to get out of standby.

Sometimes my wallpaper just disappears, and I have a black wallpaper.

I have 2 monitors, and often times my desktop icons just move to one monitor.

And just generally I have the feeling that my pc should have more performance.

 

I have read that the bluescreens could be caused because of my Wi-Fi USB-Stick,

but I'll get a LAN connection anyway soon.

 

Has anyone an idea how these problems could be fixed?

 

Specs: i74790k, Asus Maximus VII Gene, Gigabyte 970 G1 Gaming, Samsung SSD, WD HDD, 550 W bequiet PSU, 16gb Crucial ballistix RAM

have you tried a "repair" install of your os and got actual drivers for your bios and other components?

wifi stick shouldnt be responsible for your "display problems"

Try an sfc /scannow in the CMD.

I am sure that the bluescreens are caused by the Wifi stick. I have read an article in a forum about it! I'll definitely try the scannow and tell you how it went.

then just tell us if you found the solution ;)
