yeah I agreed it was speculation I was just saying if something were cheaper and gave better performance no matter how little the extra performance is its a better deal, I wasn't saying it would outperform or be cheaper than the 780

9970 is RUMORED to be over 8000 Gflops..., texelrate and pixel rate are also quite higher if i remember correctly, so yeah 5-10% speculation is without any ground whatsoever if those rumors are correct, you looking at anything between 20-60% faster (depending on pixel/texel rate).

 

For reference, AMD 7970 GHz:

To the OP, I think it is not worth it, you should just grab 780 if CUDA is thing you use.
