Should I upgrade?

Go to solution Solved by Praesi,

An upgrade has to be a big step forwards. Safe your Money for that step.

Hi All

I have been looking at purchasing a 2nd hand GTX780 on eBay with my budget being £160 but now I have come across this

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-209-MS

I currently have a GTX680 MSI Lightning Edition and a 25 DELL 2515H IPS QHD MONITOR (1440) teamed with 3570K.

I don't need it but I want it, I am looking for some encouragement to make this unnecessary purchase :)

Thanks

680=770

Lightning 680 > reference 770. I'd say keep your card if it's doing okay

So not worth the extra 1GB of Ram and I could flip my old card for £80ish?

2GB for 1080p is still fine - if you turn down settings you can even get away with it at 1440p.

Thanks for the advice, I will hold off for now and keep hold of my monies :)

My advice would be to just lower the res to 1080p and enjoy your card for a year or two more - then use the saved cash to make a proper upgrade :)
