I was wondering - how would this card handle 1080p in games currently? Not talking the most demanding ones like Witcher 3, I mean games like Shogun 2, Divinity: Original Sin, Homeworld Remastered, Heroes VII and such?

Your take?

It's on par with like the 7770 or 7790 IIRC so for older games, pretty decently.

about the same as a 7770 from what I gathered - so it should be fine for low-medium at 1080p today?

Yeah, probably, ignoring shitty tessellation support.

I'd say so, maybe even a little better depending on the game

Tess might be a small issue. True.

Older games do tend to favor older hardware in my experience. Might just run better on some of my older favourites xD

Should run ok :) But why downgrade your GPU? :P

my card may or may not be dying - covering my bases with my older card.

Agh, that sucks :/

Tell me about it :/

I hope the random pink lines that flashed on my screen while on LTT today were windows being retareded since after I let it install 29 updates it's been fine for a few hours. Could also have been Firefox but still. I will know in a few days I guess - if it keeps on/repeats I will be sending it back and using my 6850 for a month.

Its happened to me twice while booting up, before Windows starts loading, theres a black screen on my monitor (obviously) the screen has had pink and white lines flash for like a second then dissapear, its happened twice since installing Windows 10. Perhaps its not your GPU but a common wierd thing...

Funnily enough after the 29 updates MS 8.1 forced on me today - it's not happened. It was after I shut down without installing them this morning and before I did today. Maybe MS's bullshit really.

Sorry, what do you mean? :P

I had it happen 3 times in about half an hour - 2 times in rapid succession - let the thing update upon restart - nothing for 2 hours now.

A friend with a 280X had a similar thing happen a few months ago - guess it might be software hiccups.

Across AMD & Nvidia I guess :P

I guess I should remember that software bugs and glitches are a lot more common than hardware defects.

Yeah, perhaps this issue Is not caused by our video cards but by some sort of update, atleast performance hasnt decreased :D

It's the same - Shogun 2 and CS:GO (what I've tested) run perfectly fine - and the card is even cooler somehow. Usage is fine - it all seems fine now.

Yeah, I wasnt too worried, and I hope It's nothing bad, actually kind of a "joy" to see somebody else has experienced this so I know It's software related :P

Funky stuff man - I think we need a "Bugs that look like hardware issues" support group :D - am I allowed to post such a thread in off-topic?

I tried playing Blood Dragon last night and got a similar artifact. This beta patch is hit and miss as to what it plays well with. Got a critical error in Armored Warfare as well last night when the MS update decided to try and load while at 80% CPU load gaming. Not sure if it was connected to the update or me loading XTU again. Ether way I wouldn't stress too much. Give it a week.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Welp - it's been about 10 hours so far - not happened since 15;00 today. Oddly enough - it was in rapid succession (talking in about an hour) and I played a decent bit of games and such. I guess one idea would be to leave OCCT error-checking all night-long though I'm not sure if that's a good idea since heat and all - maybe I could set a 45-min session for it and go to sleep. Wake up and check results.
