Black is faster so that and i think it has a better warranty

I would go with a WD Black since AFAIK it is a performance drive and I believe last longer, so it isn't fair comparing it with an average HDD

 

If you were comparing a Blue or a green or a Barracuda or a Barracuda green, It is really what brand and if you want a eco drive or not AND it is fair, they are all about equal!

WD Blacks are great. 

 

Samsung 850 EVO SSD are very very good. You also cant go wrong with a INTEL ssd,

blacks are faster but they come at the cost of also being louder and more expensive

I have barracudas and they're pretty quiet mostly but also slow.
