Really slow ethernet

Go to solution Solved by Mug,

11.4MB/s is equal to 91.2Mb/s

et voilá, you're not really running that slow.

So. I have a WRT54G v8 with DD-WRT running as an ethernet switch at 100MBps. On my desktop, I have an Intel 82562V-2 10/100 on board ethernet. On my laptop, I have an ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. However, file transfers are only around 11.4MB/sec. On my desktop, I increased the Transmit and Receive buffers to the max, just like Linus did in the 10GBps video. My USB adapter does not have that but Jumbo Frames is set to 4KB (2KB, 4KB and Disabled are options). Speeds are still bad. iperf shows this:

iperf Me

What gives. I'm so confused. I'm also using the default Windows 8.1 driver for the USB adapter. I don't have a CD-ROM on my laptop. ;)
