Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a Windows 7 ISO but Microsoft has done what it does best and made it harder to find then ever. Does anybody know any sources for a Windows 7 ISO that is legal? I'm not liking the idea of asking the PC vendor for the ISO. Missing the Digital River ISOs.

Thanks in advance. :)

What edition? I have a lot hosted on my site.

Well in that case you should just download it from a torrent or something. Downloading the iso without any cracks or such is not illegal, at least not this side of the border.

And yes, the digital river days were just awesome.

When in doubt, re-format.

I'm in the UK so the law on it might be different but to be honest I doubt it would be much different. There again we aren't allowed to rip our own CDs we paid for which sucks.

I have found it on softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Windows-7.shtml

Depending on your feelings about softpedia, that is either slightly more or slightly less sketchy than torrenting...

When in doubt, re-format.

Was there something wrong with the site I linked?

It is a good website with hashes so that you can verify that the ISO's are legit from hashes provided by Microsoft.

It's simply a mirror site of digitalriver.

Yeah, it a great source. What are hashes?

Once you download the file, you can with a program check that the hash is the same as Microsoft says. If it's not, the download may have missed a small part of the file making it not identical to what you want and could be corrupt. Or if the ISO isn't legit, this is good way to check that. Because if the files has been tampered with by a third party, you'll know. (Is a good way to avoid unofficial W7 ISOs)
