Which CPU is better for rendering?

Hi,

I'm just curious, which CPU is better for rendering Intel or AMD? In softwares like in 3dmax or after effects... Which one gonna do it's job better i7 or AMD's 8 core cpu [don't remember the model name]?
Are there any benchmarks on the same system in those softwares?

Well 8350 does it very well, but usually i7 outperform it.

The FX 8350 and i7 are both excellent choices.

 

The i7 might outperform the 8350 by a significant bit, but it's to be expected due to the price difference.

The FX 8350 is on budget however the Core i7 will be better.

8350 is almost equal with 2600k in cinebench (not sure about 3dmax though)

Yeah, as others have said the choice between Intel and AMD comes down to your budget. If you can only afford an 8350 and nothing more expensive, then get that over an Intel at the equivalent price. If you can afford to buy a more expensive Intel, surprise surprise it will perform better, hence the 'i7' will be faster (I say 'i7' because there are multiple different i7 models using multiple sockets and not all are equal even at similar price points).
