Hi i'm planning to build a new PC, that would be the list of components i'm putting on:

-400r Corsair case

-MSI GD65 motherboard

-Intel i5 4670k CPU (overclock at 4.2ghz)

-Cooler H60 Corsair

-8gb RAM Vengeance PRO Red 2133mhz

-Video card: Gtx 760 MSI OC (With a possible 2way sli in the future)

-Hard disk 500gb WD Blue

I think that's all, i may put an SSD in the future.

Are the pieces i listed, compatible with eachoter?

And is it a balanced build? Which would be the slowest component? (the one that slows down the rest of the components)

Thanks

The things are compatible.

I wouldn't expect a 4.2 GHz overclock with a H60. I can be mistaken of course

I suggest you to get 1600MHz RAM insted of 2133MHZ RAM. You won't see a major performance decrease and the performance differencee is not worth the price differencee

8350 would be more better for gaming, because of optimisations, also your ram is overkill.

Ok thanks for your suggestion, here in Italy it's just 6$ difference that's why i'd like to buy the PRO version.

I also forgot, i'll use a CX750 W to power everything.

This computer will be used for programming, video editing, 3D rendering (not much and just for fun) and gaming(Battlefield 3 and 4, Crysis,Borderlands 2,Bioshock Infinite, Metro lastlight) on a single 1680x1050 monitor

PCper did a review of the H60 and they got 4.4ghz on a 4770k, at relatively okay temps. However, they do get engineering samples, which are typically what you wont find in the retail world.

I got 4.8ghz (8350) whit h60 at the time, and 4670k is lot cooler than 8350

upgrade your hdd a little bit, downgrade your ram a little bit and i would go for 650d case and don't do sli with 760, instead go for a single 780!

Yep, as everyone commented already, get the ram down to 1600. The thing that is slowing down this build would be the HDD, a SSD would speed it up.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

I was saying that I could be mistaken, There is no way I can know if hee will win or lose the silicoen lottery. I was only talking from personal experience. And he should absolutly try to hit as high of an overclock as possble.

if you are going to do video editing you will need much more than 500GB storage.

Slowest component is easily the hard drive.

Cooler Master 690 II Advanced - I5 2500K @ 4.5Ghz - Geil Enhance Plus 1750Mhz 8Gb - ASUS ENGTX 570 DCUII - MSI Z68aGD65 - Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B - Samsung 830 128gb and Crucial m4 128gb - much other stuff not worth mentioning

So this is the document i made out:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0An6yVZojg-MpdDNsMGJOYnMtckhLcmZLQXhidjNJWnc&usp=sharing

My budget is around 600€ but you have to consider that in italy prices aren't like in USA

The actual build is about 555€

Consider i already have the PSU and the video card

Why is the 650d better than the 400r?

I have a space issue too and the 400r would fit perfectly in my workstation, but if 650d is bigger, it won't fit

okay. i got your point. then probably go with 400r. do you have a separate room for gaming?

Downgrade ram to 1600 mhz.

Get the 1tb harddrive instead of 500 gigs. It is only slightly more expensive

A 550-600w power supply would run it just fine.

Edit: Slowest component is probably hdd.

Cpu: Intel core i5 4570 gpu: gtx 770 case: cm storm enforcer psu: xfx pro 550w motherboard: asus b85m-g ssd: samsung 120gb hdd: wd caviar blue 1tb ram: kingston hyperx blu 8gb 1600mhz mouse: razer deathadder monitor: some decent samsung 19" keyboard: CM Storm TK Blue

I have a room i use both for gaming and working(i'm a programmer and i work at home).

I have at home a Seagate Barracuda 1.5 tb 7200 rpm with SATA II connector would this be better than the WD hard disk?

As i told you i already have the PSU and the video card (i won them from a contest).

well WD vs Seagate, WD clearly wins for me!
