Video card help?

So im building my first comp, i did everything, but when i plug in the video card to the monitor nothing happens, i dont see anything, i only see something when i plug in the monitor to the motherboard.

Have you pluged in the PCI-E-Power connectors?

1.Check to make you have properly gotten your cables attached to both the GPU and Video Card.

2. If you can use the integrated GPU, check to see if the dedicated GPU is even being detected, through device manager.

Do the fan on the graphics cards start up when you start the computer?

 

You could try and plug the monitor into the motherboard and install the graphics card driver and then try the graphics card again.

Did you hook up the pci power connectors?

Make sure that your gpu is fully inserted into the PCI-E slot and you cannot see the gold on the connectors. Check that your monitor connections are properly inserted and make sure you set your monitor to the input you plugged it into (HDMI, DVI, VGA etc.) Try a different PCI-E slot if it doesn't work to see if your PCI-E slot is defective.
