GPU Stuck @ 536MHz

I know this might  sound stupid but did you try restarting it? this happens to me every now and then but a restart fixes it

Last night I noticed a derease in performance, so I ran a malware scan only to find that there is no malware causing an issue in performance, so I was kinda lost, now I go back and look into Afterburner and find out that my card wont go above 536MHz while gaming, this showed throughout Battlefield, Minecraft, and the new Star Wars Beta. Everything else is working fine, temps are normal, usage is 100%, memory is at around 1.5GB to 1.7GB, and I checked my CPU and its running fine.

Suggestions on what to try in order to fix it?

re-install drivers.

100% usage but only 536mhz? strange...

I just reinstalled the drivers a few days back, worth trying again you think?

try rolling back a couple of drivers...

do you have your GPU overclocked?

Yeh, +165 on core and +200 on memory, +2mV

I looked around a bit on an EVGA forum and heard it could be a thermal or OC issue?

it can't be a thermal issue as you stated that temperatures are normal.

try setting it to default clocks and see what happens.

Surely enough, a restart fixes the problem. But why does it happen in the first place?

No idea, maybe the GPU just decides to underclock for some reason...

It happens to my GTX 670 and doesn't run at the full 1293Mhz (It's overclocked btw) so what I do is I just re-apply the overclock it is on and it works again :)
