I have a good computer with an Intel i5 4590, 1.5 TB hard drive, 4gb of ram (Which is bad) and a Nvidia N570GTX but when I boot up the computer some programmes open really slowly... Right click takes time to open and so does google chrome, even with all the start up options disabled... League of Legends, Team Fortress start up menu's also lag for some reason although my mac book pro 2012 doesn't... Why is this, and how do I fix this problem?

Did you use it frequently? If yes it might be because of you have too much file

If you open task manager after boot and keep an eye on the performance tab is it CPU or Disk that is high, might be worth running a general maint run (i.e. defrag/ccleaner etc) first.

It might be your hdd . What speed is it ? If its 7200 rpm, you should be ok.

Sometimes drives can get cloged up , so try defragmenting it and using a program like ccleaner on it .

I personnaly run my os on a hard drive and it can get slow after some use .

Your hard drive might be dying . check it for errors and do a speed test on it with someting like crystal disk mark and compare it to the known speeds of that drive.

another sign : is your hdd making a lot of noise ?
