I would go with that if you are going to get a dedicated GPU and you are gaming.

 

Go with the APU if you are gaming and are using the integrated GPU in the APU and you are gaming

 

Go with the FX 6300 if you are definitely getting a GPU right now and if you are video editing and rendering.

I think I'm going to go with the Intel route as I've heard good things about their CPUs compared to AMD's. I'm not going to be rendering/recording either so it doesn't bother me.

Assuming that games from here on out will remain single core optimized...

Considering in games like BF4 they perform similarly, and people with FX CPUs have been waiting for over two years for games to all be magically perfectly optimized, the 6300 isn't a great choice here IMO.

This ^^^^^^ personally for a non gpu setup, an amd apu is the best choice you can go with. But even a cheap i3 with a old 750ti can out beat an apu.

 

Yeah of course it will. I was just throwing it out there because you can get decent performance with an APU and then throw a GPU in later for more
