Installing updates when shut off

Whenever i shut of my computer it says "please do not turn off or unplug computer'' ''installing updates 1 of 11"

 

is this normal?

Does any body know how to get rid of it

If it needs to download and install updates, that's normal.

let it install the updates... only way to stop it

 

you dont want to turn off the auto updater just make sure you dont install windows 10 by accident if you dont want it

Is it possible you shut it off whenever there are updates available? Windows Update can be configured to download, but not install updates automatically.

shutdown -s -f -t 0

to force shutdown.

i checked the settings and it said "automatically install updates"

I've had this glitch it was caused by a bad update from about a year and a half or 2 years ago which was bugged in a way that it never fully updates properly and reloads that batch of updates

Did MS remove it? I never had this issue ever.

No I did a system restore from a period 2 months from the start of my issues, so you can reset to factory, use a very old restore point (doubt you have one from over a year ago), or delete and disable queued updates

Yeah they fixed it, also it didn't happen to everyone it depends on certain security settings

So as I said you have two options basically reinstall windows completely, or use update manager to disable the problem updates and possibly have to delete them from your computer, honestly I don't know which update caused it so you'll probably have to reinstall windows

I bought my computer about 4 years ago, and last year I reinstalled windows this started happening the same day i reinstalled

Yeah laptop bios's might be the root of the problem, I'd say try blocking the updates that it keeps updating, but if that doesn't work you may have to reinstall and hope it doesn't happen again, good luck sorry I can't help more than this

If you have UAC enabled, just because your an admin user doesn't mean your running in admin mode 24/7.
