I'm currently going to buy a Raspberry Pi 2 for a dedicated server. It will be running 2 servers, 1 lamp (linux, apacache, mysql, php) and 1 small (1-10 people) minecraft server. I want to push all the 4 cores to about 1100 - 1300 mhz. Now I know there will be some serious heat but I have decided to scrap my old e6400 system and take its vortex 211p. I decided to use that and put it on the Pi 2. Now I'm just wondering how much heat will this produce and how much is the thermal limit for the Pi 2.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

If the heatsink is too "extreme" for that Pi 2 then I also have a spare pentium 4 heatsink,  celeron heatsink and a amd heatsink.

Sorry, did you say a minecraft server on a raspberry pi!?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Its actually possible.

Oh, didn't realize they were making the pi with 16gb of ram and an i7 :P

Maybe I'm just out of touch but I wouldn't even think of trying such a thing...

Just the server side of things, no graphical interface or anything.

I know but still... Set off a bunch of TNT minecarts and just watch it turn into a fruit smoothie :P
