Xbox Live issues

I added a person to my friends list but they did not get the invite and I see it is friends request pending but they say it shows me on their friends list and when I send them party invites they never receive them but we can send messages to each other and they cannot join my games.I do not see them on my friends list and I had them remove me form their friends list and send me an invite again but i never received it and it automatically acts like I accepted the invite. I am trying to get them to send me a party invite to see if it works right now.

try closing it out..rebooting the xbox and try again

I have tried this but I will try again

try deleting your friend..and have him delete you..reboot the xbox..then add your friend back and try joining again
