Using a amp with a builtin crossover.

I am working on a phone dock that basically I want to be able to charge my phone, and put it on the dock and play some tunes through a bigger and louder speaker.

I have the drivers, and I am designing and building a case to hold it all. I just need an amp. I have a small amp circuit from a different project laying around, but the problem is it has a builtin crossover but... I am not going to be putting in a sub because it would just make it too big.

If I just wire up my drivers it isn't going to sound right because it is splitting off the lower tones right? Is there something I could do to minimize the sound difference? or should I just find a different amp.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

Best tiny amp ever: http://amzn.com/B00N7335YA

if you want volume control, there are boards with that installed.

I have one in my portable boombox and it is absolutely amazing how much power the little thing can push out.

Doesn't the cross over unit have controls to decided were the cross over is, cant you just turn it all the way off.

There is a spot to add a pot to change the bass level, is that what I am looking for? I would think that would just be like a volume knob for the subwoofer..
