I know that over clocking your GPU perform worst but I want to know what will happen if i underclock my gpu a whole lot.

It's an MSI Geforce GTX 770 OC Edition 2GB @ 1050MHz.

If i underclock it to around 950MHz or 850MHz will it really impact performance a whole ton?

Since It has a nasty coil whine and produces a load noise on top of that.

MSI proposed for me to send it to them a while ago except I would have to ship it like 300-400km away and the shipping would have been paid by me :(

They would then send me a replacement.

well, it'll presumably run cooler, and quieter, but that's about it (as far as positives go)

When is the coil whine an issue; while gaming or just all the time? If it's all the time, it's likely you have a borked card, and underclocking is just going to decrease performance. Contact the manufacturer, (MSi) and ask for an RMA or a new card.

It wouldn't help Gaming but it would run Cooler (I guess)

Whenever I game it has noticeable coil whine

I would like that.

If you underclock to 950 MHz you'll lose up to 10% performance, 850 MHz you'll lose up to 20% performance.

Really? I think it would lose 10 ish percent.

Well, how high are your framerates? If they are in the 200-Thousands range (thousands are on menus and loading screens) you will have coil whine. If this is the case, use a program called MSi Afterburner and limit your framrates to somewhere 10-20 ish above your monitor's refresh rate.

A) Well I do have MSI after burner

There is coil whine when running windows normally

C) I'm gonna go to MSI's local distributor, show them the receipt and ask for a replacement.

It used to stay 34% at all times. IDK if it still is that way
