A few worthwhile sacrifices

ok so as many of you know I am running a 30hz 38 inch 1080i emerson monitor with a severe ghosting problem (soon to be replaced on my birthday next month! yay for me I guess...) but for the time being I am tired of getting headaches from only 30fps and getting pwned on cod from the low max fps. so I discovered that if I put it down to 720p I can now play at 60hz and as a person who has NEVER played on a 60hz monitor. let me say its epic

now given I do have to run my games at 1280x720 which is console resolution but it still looks dang good with AA maxed out and all the details cranked up to the max. It looks way better than any game on the 360 and the ghosting went away...

What are some of your technological sacrifices you had to make in your youth or even recently? whether that be in your rig, your cell phone what have you.

I might switch over to a 1440p IPS/PLS monitor from a 120Hz TN panel, which will apparently be less responsive but will be a good decision overall, at least for me.

1824 x 1026 on a 720p TV instead of a native 1080p/1440p display.

I kept stubbing my toe on my sub, I moved it to the top of my desk and it sounds better but it makes my mouse vibrate and fall off my desk. I have yet to see what benefit I have gained from my actions.
