This is a quick fix build to get the basics going for me, it is not intended for hard gaming or anything much more than word, internet and some video watching and basic games.

Please I know the CPU is not very strong for the build but it is going to be replaced in January/February with an I5 4 core, the one I bought is just a temp CPU to get things going for now and it should be sufficient for time being.

*edit

Updated the partpicker to show the HDD I have already. Untill I get the sdd.

I almost bought that Asus mITX motherboard, but it was either overpriced or unavaliable, so I bought the

Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI instead.

Edit: Huh. The motherboard was cheaper on Amazon when I bought it last week,

I would've suggest a R9 380 for 15% more power but if you already have it it seems fine

A dual core would not be the best. better to go with an AMD in budget builds. And only a SSD? 250GB?

The i3 will be better for what this person is using it for, and you dont need to add a large driver immediately, its a method of saving money. You buy the SSD now to put an OS on and then later when you need more storage you get a larger drive so you dont need to reinstall OS on the SSD if you were to get it second.

At least they saved $40.

R9 380 is cheaper (2GB model) by about 40$ :/

Not hardcore gaming, says the OP.

I plan on upgrading the chip later.

I have a 500GB HDD and 1TB hybrid drive (both 2.5inch) from my recently dead Laptop I'll be using until I get the SSD. Besides 250GB SSD is enuf for an OS drive for me.

I will update the partpicker list to show these.

i see now. CS:GO and such

I don't play CS:GO low end games for now. Mostly Need for speed, Command and Conquer stuff. And Steam

I will be building a beast next year (if all goes well)

  • 3 weeks later...

Finally the budget build is done. Just doing the final touches on initial software updates. I hope to get some folding (low setting) going soon.  :D
