Integrated realtek vs wired network adapter

You mean use a PCI NIC instead of your mobos built in one?

I was wondering if it is better to buy a wired network adapter or to stay with the one who's integrated with the motherboard (Realtek adapter) ?

Do you need more network speed?

If your integrated is max 100Mbps, and you have faster than 100Mbps internet, or, plan on streaming from or backing up to other local network devices you may want to upgrade to a 1Gbps PCI-e NIC. This also requires that your router/switch is also 1Gbps compatible.  

 

If you integrated is max 1Gbps, there is no point in going with another PCI-e NIC. The only way you will get anything "faster" is if you have specialized networking gear and specialized other computers on your network.
