Are there even any differences besides the price?  And would it be worth it to get the more expensive one?

Well, there is a difference obviously. It's analog, high quality parts will mean better sound with less noise.

My father had one in his car which was very cheap, there was a ton of hissing.

I don't think so. but, dayum cassette tapes.

I'd read the reviews though, see what others thought of each.

Get a better head unit.

I ignored you and then I clicked view anyway and was sad again. Why do you even type anything.

You only have yourself to blame, you should really treat yourself better. Honestly though, head units are like $30 for a bleh one and $60 for a decent one. It's not bad advice.

Yeah, and getting one that's compatible with your in car controls is like nearly impossible so that's that.

uwot? have you installed a head unit in the last 5 years? the only compatible part you need to worry about is actually fitting in your console. If the OP is looking for cassette adapters then it's not like they have controls on their steering wheel to worry about and even if they did most head units these days can be wired for those extra controls anyways.
