Mic not working

I recently bought a blue snowball mic.

I also have a webcam with a mic built in, 99% of the time my blue snowball mic does not show up on the recording devices tab on windows even though it is plugged in. I have tried different USB Slots to no avail. 

A twist is that sometimes for only like a minute I will see it appear on my recording devices and it will work fine then a couple minutes later it just disconnects itself again all the while having power as the light is on on it.

Have you got USB selective suspend enabled in power options?
