Sky+ box unlock

Hi so I have a old Sky+ box not the HD model and it can recieve freesat without a subscription but it cannot record to the hard drive. So what I am asking is if in anyway I can unlock the Sky+ box to record freesat without a subscription.

I used to know about a guy who sold modded TV boxes with all the channels for a cheap rate monthly and could get unlimited wifi by getting a cable install in your home and cancelling then he did something with the inactive cable.

Obviously illegal and im not sure how it works either, even if I did this forum is the wrong place. Go to hackforums.net

I know of a person who once wanted to do this but then he realised it's just better not to bother. You can get much better HD freesat recievers cheaply nowadays.

I looked on YouTube quickly like you must've done and I can't really find a definitive guide.

 

Humax does a few "Freesat +" boxes, I'd go with one of those. The UI is really intuitive btw so you'll probably be glad of your investment.

Ok well I have seen that somehow if you still have the old Blue and Yellow viewing cards it can sometimes reactivate it. I will try this next week
