Budget : ~$2000 AUD

Looking for a Silent/Quite Build Using Fractal Define R5 (Without Windowed). Is there another option for quite fans which works great in R5 (140mm preferred and PWM) Also should i get another 500GB SSD for 2TB WD Blacks. I want o know which one is better for the down the line PCEI SSD and sound cards addon cards and will a SLI effect the performance of either of them if there are all plugged in down the track. I want to mininused my upgrades parts in futures such as motherboards or CPU as this would most likely cost the most apart from GPU.

Budget : ~$2000 AUD

You could save a bit of cash if go with a Silencio Case

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-rc550kkn1

Otherwise the Noctua fans really aren't worth their cost

Also go with the X99 build

And get HGST 4TB drives if possible

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yes OFC :)

Should have figured that out. I couldn't see a graphics card in your new builds and was confused... teehee

As for some of the questions you raised, the both the X99 and Z170 builds will be easily able to handle a second 980ti in SLI. However, only the X99 build will be able to take a third card.

This leads into another of your questions, about the PCI-E SSD. While both platforms will be able to take it, iirc you will not be able to run SLI and use a PCI-E SSD on Z170, only X99. Given your choice of cooler I assume you plan to overclock, so the difference in clock speeds should not really matter.

Having said that, going X99 severely limits your upgrade path for CPUs. There are not going to be any new 2011-3 CPUs, so you will be limited to the 5930K/5960X. If you do not plan to upgrade for the next 2-3 years, that should be fine.

Overall, the X99 build wins for me based of your criteria

I dont really like Silecncio Case ... it has low quality feeling

What other 140 mm PWM fans which has high static/airflow with low noise?

It quite hard to find stock for HGST drives in Australia. I only found one it on store but you have to pre order it and i ask the support and he said it would like 3months...

Good choice for Corsair RM line of PSUs.

Isn't the case essentially the same thing as the R5? Bit smaller though, still ATX.
