GTX 570 SLI

Another one of those is it worth it questions!

My friend is selling his two GTX 570's for £55 (83USD)

Is this worth a buy and will it be faster than my 760 OC in games that support SLI well.

My only worry is the 1280Mb Vram.

My 560 ran Witcher 3 on low settings 1080p at ~50 fps.

That's what I can say about it.

I like old cards so I would probably jump at it but to be honest mate I would stick with the GTX 760. Less heat produced and less power consumption.

Yeah fair enough!

I'll give them a test and see how they perform it's just the price of shipping from the US that's putting me off!

Nvidia Thermi - The way it's meant to be grilled

It'll be a bit faster than then a single 760 in SLI

but stick with the 760

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Don't get Thermi ._. - they are too hot and can melt their own VRMs

The GTX 480 was the king of all ovens

Two Russian guys managed to fry and egg and eat it with 580 SLI - took about an hour but the egg was perfectly fried and edible. 570s don't lack behind that much. You will be sorry :D

For that price I'd buy them, there are always uses for decent gpus. And once you have them you can do all the experiments you want, see if they perform better or just slot them in and run folding on them while you game on the 760.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

maybe of relevance

7970 (from when that add is) was actually not as warm as Thermi - I think the stock cooler kept them at 77-80*C - not like the 102*C on the GTX 480 and 95*C on the GTX 580 :)

I don't know man - the ones I saw had temps of 102*C and 98*C and fried their own VRMs after a few months.

His crad was on air, and topped out at 86c in really intense loads on his stock cooler, he then did a mod to it with a GELID icy vision and a Thermalright VRM cooler and bumped the clocks up.

Then these people must be either in a stupidly hot country, or have bad air flow.
