everything about it is very good. Maybe consider a enthoo pro or enthoo pro m case? And a slightly better air cooler like a dark rock pro 3 or noctua d15. just some opinion that does stretch your budget actually but yeah, it looks totally fine now just saying what i gonna do with it if i am in your position.

The cpu coolers stretch the budget a bit as I am not going to oc past 4.0ghz. The case, however, I will consider because that is a mighty fine case but where are the ports?

for enthoo pro is at the front the drive bay area with a cover so you have to lift to access. this is a full tower btw.

If enthoo pro m then the io is at the side very convinient if you put your pc at the right side like me and it is a mid tower. so both of it offers different features to suit you. Imo their case quality is really freaking good especially compare to corsair and by features and function they are way better than nzxt.

would a full tower fit in a desk space or is a ftower out of the question?

A full tower case is pretty big. If you mean on top of your desk then I would choose micro atx mini tower or mini itx as desk cases.

Look up Thermaltake Core V21. It's a small cube case that supports micro atx and mini itx motherboards. Probably my top 4 favorite case.

I am putting it under my desk near my feet.

Ah in that case a mid tower case is the standard.

Full tower is probably fine but make sure to check the case height as well as the height available under your desk.

http://pcpartpicker.com/ is your friend.

looks good, would recommend getting a liquid cooler and a higher end motherboard and lay back on the peripherals/monitor/case.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.
