Why FPS drops ?

GTA 5 has random fps drops to 20, Rise son of rome has it, even CSGO . He sais its happening in ALL settings, low or high

 

The guy tells me he gets 60 fps then random drops to very low fps and that its annoying as hell. What's happening?

 

He tried making the cpu run only at 99% , it didn't help alot.

CPU can't handle GTA 5. CS:GO has drops on every machine. That's why everyone plays with 300 fps.

Rise wasn't greatly optimized.

That CPU lacks L3 cache, maybe that's the reason for an FPS drop from time to time?

Overclock it to 4.4 ghz or more with a decent cpu cooler. That would make things a little better.

No. You'd be better off buying a new 1150 MOBO and a G3258 or 4460 (whichever he can afford).

Intel cores are generally a lot stronger than AMD cores.

The aftermarket cooler is there and also the motherboard, can you check it and see if its any good for OC?

AMD CPU's generally perform worse than Intel CPU's in games, your CPU is definetely your bottleneck.

The game doesen't constantly run at 20 fps, it runs at 60-80 on high settings, it only drops to 20 at random times

L2 Cache could be the reason. Or little L3 cache.

ur cpu is bottlenecking so bad thats the problem

How can it be bottlenecking if it can stay at 60-80 fps on High and have FPS drops only at certain times
