As the title says, I am randomly freezing in games and they're about 1-3 seconds long. The audio also seems to cut out so I think it's something to do with my hardware, I get these freezes whilst playing DayZ Overwatch. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

What are your CPU and GPU temps? Are you overclocking at all? What drivers are you running?

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

According to Speedfan my hottest core ran at 32 degrees celcius, the hottest my GPU went was 68 degrees celcius and no I'm not overclocking. Drivers are 320.49

It could be your GPU. What speed is your GPU fan at? Try turning it up if possible. Your GPU could be overheating.

Isn't OverWatch the poorly optimized one? I was watching a stream yesterday and they were complaining about the framerate in either Overwatch or Aftermath being ~30fps and lower when they get around fog and other random things.

He was also freezing at points and the audio got choppy in fire fights and from the ingame teamspeak.

Could be that.

How do I get the firmware updated for my GPU?

You get it from the manufacture site of your GPU, in your case MSI (based on your signature). It can be refereed as "vBIOS" on the manufacture website instead of "firmware".

CRITICAL INFORMATION:

1- DO NOT get the firmware for UEFI ready (or could be refer as GOP ready). If your motherboard isn't set to UEFI (require OS re-installation, and switch the HDD/SSD partition from MBR to GPT, if it isn't), or the motherboard doesn't FULLY support UEFI, you'll have a bad time (read: your GPU will be a brick, until you get that).

2- Please note that not all graphic card model have upgradable firmware.

I really don't understand any of that so I'll just ignore this lag since it's probably because of this game, I'll give some other games a go.
