Are you using headphones when he is playing his guitar?  Or is your sound defaulted to the speakers?

Headphones

Have you tried adjusting the gain or default format for the microphone?  Have you tried re-installing Skype?

Yep, I am using an external mic too... I am using a $200 condenser so I shouldn't have this prob lol

Likely you have some sound leakage in your headphones, and your $200 condenser is picking it up and shutting off your mic.

Try turning volume down all the way so nothing is playing, and ask if its still happening.

If so.

Try turning off any "anti noise, anti echo" type settings in skype.

Also, if you are gaming.....I know that Skype is "the thing to use" these days with the newest generation of PC gamers, but... Maybe try something designed for gaming - Razer Comms, Discord, Teamspeak, Vent, etc etc. Just as a general friendly suggestion :)

Yeah I have been trying to get my friends to move over to TS so I can adjust their volumes because one of my friends sounds like he is on the ISS and his mic is in his house.. if you get what I am saying.. But they keep saying no because they don't want to change over..

You may be able to convince with Discord. Its both an app, and also a website client. So, you dont even need to install so it's easy.
