So after I get use of my first budget build I am getting, I plan to get an i5 4690k and I need help with the mobo. I dont plan to overclock with my first AMD build, but the intel build when I get the money I want to overclock a little bit so I picked the 4690k. I just dont know what mobo is CHEAP but gets the job done for overclocking a TAD not like superclocking I dont want to go far with it I just want to push out a bit of performance. can someone recommend a mobo CHEAP and reliable. CHEAP!!! key word!

I'd encourage you to spend just a little more on a board as MSI cut a lot of corners to get Z97 at that pricepoint.

You could go for an open box board like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132118R&cm_re=z97_motherboard-_-13-132-118R-_-Product

Or just spend a bit more on a new board like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157507&cm_re=z97_motherboard-_-13-157-507-_-Product

Priorities, do you EVER (within the 3-5 years of the build) think you'll require dual-GPU's, multiple plug-in devices (sound cards/storage),, or more than enough Sata connects and whatnot.... or think it's a good idea?

Investing in a SLI/Crossfire board is a little more pricey, but could be very well worth the investment.

Among other features to look into... keeping costs down you'd sacrifice some, but more and more basic boards are getting great features too.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Nope, in all honesty I do not want to make an sli or crossfire build as its wayyyy out of my budget, yes, in years too. I dont plan to make a total boss build I only am making one for casual gaming to get me by.

well u can just invest a little more and get MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard .. its really good i totally recommend it :)

I totally was looking at that one and I seriously want it because 1 I love the color scheme and 2 I heard msi is reliable but obviously I didnt want to get like a $50 msi board but this one stood out with good reviews and i guess a good price. My current amd board is 80 bucks and I will change to intel cpu and board when I get use out of this build. I honestly dont even have my current build yet I need the money. Christmas haha. But I sorta underlooked the mobo and went totally cheap BUT I am hoping its enough to get by for a year or more. I am going to be fine on the gpu r9 380. Like I said I am not going for a decked out pc I went budget build lol. But hey, an fx 6300 and an r9 280 isnt a BAD pc, it performs well in multicore games rather than ones that only support 1-2 cores which then even an i3 would be better than the fx 6300 but in games like BF4 and crysis 3 this processor is just fine.
