PC Sometimes Won't Boot

Go to solution Solved by DarthSlater77,

What I meant is power it up again after doing a force shutdown. Im using a desktop.

sory im just getting back. If it is an ocational event it probably isn't hardware related. we just had a PC a work start doing this. Back-up your important data and reimage the machine there is probably a corrupt file in the windows boot sector or system files. It is a good idea to do a OS fresh install once a year or so otherwise strange stuff like this happens. For example my machine needs a OS refresh It is doing some strange things as well but it has been 3 years so that is to be expected =)

I've been encountering this problem sometimes wherein my PC won't boot to Windows and just display black. Every time this happens I have to force shutdown(no reset for S340) my PC and open it again and this time it will boot to Windows. Is this a problem on my motherboard or my power supply?

"open it again" are you using a laptop if so what model?

As a temporary you can try disconnecting the power and battery (If its a laptop) and hold down the power button for 30 sec to a min. This wil discharge any power from the system and sometimes helps when you try rebooting again.

I will do the best I can to help in any way. However I am not all knowing and realize that I can be wrong. Thank you for still answering! And yes I have already reinstalled my OS from Win10 to Win8.1. And as of now I'm not encountering this problem anymore. Thank you!

Happy I could help. There are many problems floating around that are Windows 10 based. Windows 10 just isn't ready yet. I estimate it will take another year or two for Microsoft to make it stable if at all. We may be looking at another ME (mistake edition) of windows.

Yeah I think so too hence the downgrade. Many apps doesn't work properly in Win10 another reason why I went back to Windows 8.1.
