Motherboard Advice

Go to solution Solved by JebKerman,

I like the deluxe for the onboard wifi, I didn't seem to find any cheaper board with that built in. The gigbyte has solid audio, and I like the op-amp gimmick, even if it's just that, as for the Asrock, I have had good expericences with them in the past. I wanted to splurge a little, and get something worthy of a 6700k, and it may sound vain, but they all meet my top requirment of not being hideous ROG red and black. I guess what I really need is a solid board for overclocking/gaming that supposrts 2x M.2, at least 2 way SLI, and is ATX. Wifi would be really really nice to have but isn't a requirement, they all mostly seem to have some kind of bios recover or dual bios so that's not a problem. A PS2 port is always welcome.

well, at least you have reasons. but, interestingly enough, the Deluxe, despite it's price still only has 1 M.2 slot. So i guess it comes down to what's more important to you. I'd take the Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 because it's price disparity is enough to get a really good PCI or USB wireless adapter for the same price as a Deluxe

All of those are really, REALLY, unnecessarily expensive. What comic sans said. But you never need to spend this much on a motherboard.

yea, it's been an amusing week with both of us around. He has the Sabretooth doesn't he, I kinda consider that a bit of an outlier, because most seem to get it for the "thermal armour"

which applies to very few individuals, the more budget options like the ASUS A/AR/P/K/Pro Gaming, and MSI Krait/Gaming M3/Gaming Pro, Asrock Pro4/Extreme 4, Gigabyte Gaming 3/D3H/SLI. Will have all the features 95% of people need at anywhere between 1/2-2/3rds the price
